* Ekocups Fair Trade Organic Coffee, Mexican Blend Review *
It’s good to find a coffee with a socio-economic awareness. The Ekocups have a variety of flavors, this one is the Mexican variety.
There isn’t much of an aroma from this coffee, I had to try really hard to detect a trace or presence of the coffee. The presentation scores a 1 out of 5 points.
The taste was distinctly medium roast, with some citrus flavors. It was mellow and not overwhelming. There was a little bitterness to the taste, but not a lot. It tasted better than most, but not among the top that I’ve tasted. The taste score is 3 out of 5 points.
This reminds me of the Green Mountain series of coffees. They aren’t remarkable, but they have a flavor that manages to satisfy at some level. I would classify this as “diner” coffee. Despite the absence of a fresh-brewed character, it’s flavor makes up for some of this shortcoming. This coffee earns an overall score of 3 out of 5 points.
