* Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Heritage Blend Dark Roast Coffee Review *
I have been to one of their cafes when I was living on Maui. I had good memories of the experiences I shared with family and friends. Finding this coffee in a k-cup was a pleasant surprise, and I popped it into the brewer, excited at what I may find therein.
The brew came out with an excellent presentation, the aroma brought out the typical notes of a dark roast and the smell was full with coffee appeal. This coffee scores a 5 out of 5 points for presentation.
The flavor of the coffee was mellow for a dark roast, but what I couldn’t get around was the bitterness of each sip, it seemed to overrun the first taste and remained in a stinging aftertaste once I finished. This one scores a 2 out of 5 points for taste.
Overall, the coffee performed like a rich, dark coffee but it wasn’t pleasant to consume. This earns an overall score of 2 out of 5 points.
The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf remains a memorable cafe experience, and I hope to find other roasts for comparison because I think they deserve a second chance. We shall see.
